Raise the vehicle and place it on frame supports, making sure the
Control Arms fall freely, then proceed to remove the wheel and tire. Take off the wheel and tire, then wash all the dirt off the drive axle threads and put some lubricant on them. Put a drift punch or screwdriver through the rotor while removing the drive axle nut and the rotor. Make sure to unplug the abs front wheel speed sensor connector and move it out of the dust shield clasp, after which you can take out the hub and bearing retaining bolts. Replace the hub and bearing together as a unit. With the front hub spindle remover (J28733-B), remove the hub and bearing from the drive axle, and make sure to clean away rust and contaminants from the knuckle bore, face, and chamber for before putting the hub and bearing on the drive axle, grease the knuckle bore and tighten the hub and bearing bolts to 95 nm (70 ft. Lbs.). Be sure not to touch the abs sensor wire as you take off the plastic cover, and then put a new drive axle nut on and screw it in until the hub and bearing are sealed onto the axle. Reconnect the connector for the abs front wheel speed sensor, clip it properly, and then set the brake rotor, using a drift punch or screwdriver to keep it from rotating, before tightening the drive axle nut to 160 nm (118 ft. Lbs.). Lower the car after you have put the wheel and tire in place.
