How to replace the shift cable on Buick Enclave?

Before starting the replacement of the Shift Cable users need to use the parking brake while wheel chocking. Remove the floor console left extension panel from its positioning. To begin the installation disconnect terminal of the transmission shift cable from the shift lever pin before releasing retainer and retrieving the cable from the transmission control lever base. Secondly detach terminal which connects the transmission shift cable to the transmission manual shift lever. The operator must push both locking tabs inward to detach the cable from its bracket release point while extracting the grommet from the cowl panel before removing the cable from the vehicle. Before installing the new cable users must position it inside the vehicle while mounting the grommet onto the cowl panel. Secure cable brackets by attaching cables before linking terminal to manual shift lever of the transmission control unit. Secure the cable against the transmission control lever base while ensuring complete retention of the retainer, then fasten terminal to the shift lever pin. The parking brake needs to be released only after you adjust the automatic transmission shift cable and reinstall the floor console left extension panel.
