How to replace the front side door Weather Strip on 2011 GMC Savana 3500?

The first step to replace the side front door weather strip involves removing its retainer from the top and working with either 3M Release Agent or an equivalent when separating it from the top door edge. Dismantle the weather strip by removing it from its mounting channel on the door side before you extract the retainer and weather strip seeking to remove all remaining adhesive from the door bottom. Wet the side front door weather strip using mild soap and water before inserting it from bottom to top of the channel. To maintain the old weather strip for reuse apply GM weather strip Adhesive GM P/N 12345097 (Canadian P/N 10953479) or its equivalent at the top of the weather strip for door attachment. Begin the installation by fixing the retainer to the top of the weather strip before applying the weather strip along the door bottom. Lastly, press the retainers inside the side front door weather strip into the corresponding holes in the door.

A: The first step to replace the side front door weather strip involves removing its retainer from the top and working with either 3M Release Agent or an equivalent when separating it from the top door edge. Dismantle the weather strip by removing it from its mounting channel on the door side before you extract the retainer and weather strip seeking to remove all remaining adhesive from the door bottom. Wet the side front door weather strip using mild soap and water before inserting it from bottom to top of the channel. To maintain the old weather strip for reuse apply GM weather strip Adhesive GM P/N 12345097 (Canadian P/N 10953479) or its equivalent at the top of the weather strip for door attachment. Begin the installation by fixing the retainer to the top of the weather strip before applying the weather strip along the door bottom. Lastly, press the retainers inside the side front door weather strip into the corresponding holes in the door.
