How to replace the Wheel Speed Sensor on 2010 GMC Savana 1500?

Before you replace the Wheel Speed Sensor you need to lift and support your vehicle before taking off the tire and wheel. After that you will remove the brake rotor specific to 1500 versions. Take off the wss by removing clips that secure it to knuckle and upper Control Arm and to the frame while also disconnecting the electrical connector and wss bolt. Remove the sensor from its bore by drawing it directly straight out to keep it from breaking. For 2500/3500 series vehicles you need to take out the Wheel Speed Sensor from its location in the hub/bearing assembly. Insert the wss bore plug to protect it from foreign objects while preparing the hub surface with a wire brush and applying thin wheel bearing lubricant (GM P/N 01051344). Put the wss unit in the hub/bearing assembly so its bottom surface faces directly against the hub. Use 18 nm torque when tightening the wss mounting bolt afterwards clip the wss cable to the knuckle, control arm, and frame parts as well as connect the electrical connector. Reinstall the brake rotor for the 1500 series after installing the tire and wheel plus running the vehicle diagnostic system test.
