First remove all bolts from the engine shield then detach the shield from its position. The removal process begins with extracting oil pan skid plate bolts as well as the skid plate from 1500 series models. The 2500 series requires bolt removal of both rear oil pan skid plate fasteners followed by removing the front oil pan skid plate fasteners and the skid plate if it is installed. The process requires discarding the Catalytic Converter if needed. Place the engine shield on the frame while installing its bolts to 20 nm (15 lb ft) before the vehicle reaches the ground.
