To dispose of the suspension shock/strut, wear eye protection to prevent injury from metal chips. Clamp the strut horizontally in a vise with the rod extended. Drill a hole at the end cap to allow gas to escape, using towels to contain the oil. Drain the oil by moving the rod in and out.
