In order to change the air conditioning evaporator core, one should take out the HVAC module and break all the wiring connections. Remember to remove the evaporator cowl gasket and dissociate the upper and lower hassemblies of HVAC modules. Disconnect the evaporator core, install the new one using refrigerant oil and reassemble the HVAC unit.
