How to replace the shock absorber (1500) on 2009 Chevrolet Silverado 1500?

In order to install the shock absorber, lift and hold the car and rear axle. Disassemble the upper and lower shock absorber nuts and bolts then remove the shock absorber. Install shock absorber, which is to be held by nuts and bolts, and drop the vehicle.
