How to replace the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor on 2009 Cadillac DTS?

Before replacing the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor start by taking off the fuel injector sight shield. Extract cooling system fluids from the vehicle by employing either Vac-N-Fill or Static Fill technology. Before removing the ECT sensor disconnect the engine harness cable connector from its position at the engine coolant temperature sensor. The threads of the new ECT sensor require application of GM P/N 12346004 (Canadian P/N 10953480) or an equivalent sealant before installation. Secure the ECT sensor with 20 Nm (15 lb ft) torque. Use a torque limiter to connect the engine harness electrical connector to the ECT sensor. After operation you must use the Vac-N-Fill or Static Fill method to fill the cooling system before reinstalling the fuel injector sight shield.
