How to replace the front seat belt in a Crew Cab on 2008 GMC Canyon?

Throughout the Crew Cab front seat belt replacement process you must start by disabling the SIR system. You must first remove the front seat belt upper guide shoulder bolt along with its trim cover from the front assembly. First disconnect the lower center pillar trim panel and then remove the front seat belt anchor bolt. The installation starts with disconnecting the electrical connector from the retractor/pretensioner while also removing the bolt that retains the seat belt retractor/pretensioner assembly to the body. After that, take out the front seat belt assembly from the vehicle. The installer should mount the rear seat belt retractor/pretensioner assembly onto the vehicle body before installing its retaining bolt with a torque value of 52.5 N.m (39 lb ft). Secure the retractor/pretensioner electrical connector and mount the front seat belt upper guide with its bolt. Do not twist the seat belt webbing and wrench-tighten the front seat belt upper guide bolt to 52.5 N.m (39 lb ft). Before proceeding with installation of the front seat belt upper guide shoulder bolt trim cover you should put in the lower center pillar trim panel after the bolt is installed for the front seat belt anchor while verifying the seat belt webbing maintains a straight position and using 52.5 N.m (39 lb ft) torque settings. Finally, enable the SIR system.
