2008 GMC Canyon Headlight Bulb Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Replace the Headlight Bulb on 2008 GMC Canyon?
A: The first step before changing the headlamp bulb requires turning off the headlamp switch and placing the ignition switch into the lock position. First detach the front grille before you uninstall the bolts which hold the headlamp unit in place. Push and rotate the high beam headlamp along with the low beam headlamp both 1/4 turns counterclockwise to remove the bulb when necessary after disconnecting the electrical connector. Install the new bulb by connecting its electrical connector first then pushing the high beam headlamp and low beam headlamp clockwise one-quarter turn until secured. Install the headlamp bolts then secure them at 10 n.m (89 lb in) torque while verifying the headlamp operation before putting back the front grille. Attention must always be given to how you handle halogen bulbs because contact with the glass can lead to serious consequences along with dirt or moisture affecting the bulb. Improper handling may result in breakage or explosion.
