    A: Start the brake pedal position sensor replacement by taking out the instrument panel insulator. Press the connector position assurance without taking it out before removing the electrical cable. Unscrew the sensor and pull out the brake pedal position sensor. Apply adhesive GM P/N 12345493 on the screw before you position the sensor fork on the pin and rotate the sensor to match its locator to the extension bracket hole. Tighten the brake pedal position sensor screw to a torque value of 18 lbs inch with 2 N.m. Secure the CPA connector correctly and test the electrical connection. After installing the new I/P insulator attach the sensor then test and activate the new sensor function.
