How to replace the pitman arm on 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 1500?

The first step before replacing the Pitman Arm requires steering gear removal. Suspend the steering gear with a vise before removing the Pitman Arm nut together with its washer. Two alternative Pitman Arm removal tools exist: the Pitman Arm puller (J 6632-01) and the Pitman Arm puller (J 29107-A). The new Pitman Arm should be mounted onto the steering gear first before adding a Pitman Arm washer and nut which must be securely fastened to 250 n.m (184 lb ft). When completing the procedure take out the steering gear from the vise for reinstallation. If necessary apply the necessary adjustments to the front toe configuration.
