    A: The service and repair of the flex plate along with engine Flywheel replacement requires both crankshaft balancer holder (J 38122-A) and angle meter (J 45059) tools. Start the process by taking the automatic transmission out of place. At this time install the crankshaft balancer holder (J 38122-A) to the crankshaft balancer so that the flexplate remains stationary during bolt removal while an assistant fixes it in place using a breaker bar. To gain adequate contact on thin-headed flexplate bolts it becomes necessary to cut off the chamfer from an 18-mm socket. Use the crankshaft balancer holder (J 38122-A) to keep the flexplate from rotating when removing the bolts and discard used bolts because new ones need installation. Extent orientation between flexplate and crankshaft is unnecessary because flexplate balancing is conducted individually. The thread adhesive needs clear-up from the Flywheel bolt holes using a nylon bristle brush following flexplate removal. The crankshaft balancer holder (J 38122-A) maintains flexplate motionlessness during new flexplate bolt torque application for installation. Set the new automatic transmission in place by screwing flexplate bolts to 53 n.m (39 lb ft) and 25 degrees beyond specifications with angle meter (J 45059).
