How to Replace a Coolant Temperature Sensor on 2008 Chevrolet HHR?

The replacement process requires partial drainage of the cooling system according to either the ge 47716 fill method or the static fill-lnf method. The electrical connector of the sensor requires heat shield removal when necessary. First disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector from the engine Coolant Temperature Sensor before removing the ect sensor. Tighten the sensor to 20 n.m (15 lb ft) before installing the engine Coolant Temperature Sensor. Afterward install the heat shield around the electrical connector only if needed and reconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector to the ect sensor. Fill the cooling system following instructions from ge 47716 fill method or static fill-lnf method.
