2008 Chevrolet Express 3500 Turn Signal Switch Parts and Q&A
Q: How to replace the Turn Signal Switch on 2008 Chevrolet Express 3500?
A: You must deactivate the SIR system before changing the turn signal multifunction switch. Place the abrasion sleeve back onto the steering column wire harness assembly before you reinstall both trim panels while making note of the connector position. Separate the wire harness assembly from its strap before disconnecting the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly from SIR system coil connector. Pull the two connectors from the bulkhead contact base of the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly. Unscrew the two pan head tapping screws from the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly to take it out of the steering column tilt head assembly. Install the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly on top of the steering column tilt head while making sure its electrical contact touches the turn signal cancel cam. Fasten the two screws with pan heads in position then tighten them to 1 N.m (9 lb in). Push both connectors into the bulkhead connector and join the turn signal and switch assembly connector to the SIR coil connector. Bind the screws to 6 N.m (53 lb in) tension. Position the steering column wire harness assembly back into place with the ignition lock cylinder case wires and connector in the correct alignment. Last, fit the wire harness assembly back into the holder then install the top and bottom trims while activating SIR functions.
