How to remove and replace the Weather Strip on the windshield frame on 2008 Cadillac XLR?

First open both doors and lower your folding top to work on removing and installing the windshield frame weather strip. Begin by removing both left and right window filler panel coverings before continuing with the windshield upper garnish molding. Pull the weather strip away from its mountings at the top windshield frame using your fingertips while removing attached screws. Use the upper corner openings to access the street from its two windscreen frame screws and install the flaps afterward. Remove all remaining old sealant from the retainer of the windshield weather strip. Start by putting the left and right upper corner screws into the windshield frame then tighten them to 2.5 N.m (22 lb in). Fit the tail end of the windshield weather strip onto the upper retaining frame before screwing and tightening it into position at each edge of the windshield frame to 2.5 N.m. Install the windshield upper molding and left and right window filler panel decorations back in place. After setting the top in position you should examine the contact between the weather strip and windshield frame before locking the doors.
