How to replace the positive battery cable on 2008 Cadillac Escalade ESV?

The replacement of positive battery cable requires disconnection of the negative cable followed by removal of the under hood junction block cover. Remove the junction block retainers which are currently locked and move them into an open position before you reposition the junction block properly. Detach the positive battery cable connector at the underhood bussed electrical center (UBEC) then remove the mega fuse cover. Remove the generator battery jumper cable to mega fuse nut and its terminal from the mega fuse stud. The first step removes the positive battery cable channel along with its clips from plenum front panel studs followed by disconnecting the positive battery cable terminal from the mega fuse stud. Finish the process by taking out the positive battery cable from the vehicle component. Begin the installation procedure by mounting the positive battery cable to the vehicle before joining its terminal to the mega fuse stud. Reconnect the positive battery cable channel and clips to the plenum front panel before joining the generator battery jumper cable terminal to the mega fuse stud followed by generator battery jumper cable into mega fuse nut where tightening the corresponding nuts reaches 9 N.m (80 lb in). The installation sequence requires return of both the mega fuse cover along with the positive battery cable connector to attach with the UBEC. After opening the junction block retainers position them to align with the 4 bracket pivots, insert the pivots and lower the retainer into its locked position. Proceed with the installation of the under hood junction block cover before finishing with the negative battery cable reconnection.
