  A: The first step to replace the bank 2 sensor 1 heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) is to take off the fuel injector sight shield. The installation requires disconnecting the ho2s electrical connector from the engine wiring harness electrical connector and dislodging the retainer securing it onto the harness clip. Before proceeding remove the ho2s from its position inside the Exhaust Manifold. For reuse of the original sensor during installation it is essential to apply anti-seize compound gm p/n 12377953 as well as equivalent products to the sensor threads because the ho2s features a special anti-seize compound made of liquid graphite and glass beads for easy removal. Fasten the ho2s on the Exhaust Manifold at 42 n.m torque (31 lb ft). Install ho2s electrical connector retainer to the engine wiring harness clip by connecting the engine wiring harness electrical connector to the ho2s electrical connector before placing the fuel injector sight shield back position.
