  • Q: How to replace the A/C Clutch assembly on 2008 Buick Enclave?
    A: To replace the compressor clutch assembly first, lift up and support the vehicle adequately. Thereafter, remove the Drive Belt before removing the clutch plate retaining bolt and the clutch plate assembly . Next, disposal of the clutch hub/bearing snap ring and the clutch hub/bearing assembly. Remove the clutch coil harness retainer and the snap ring from the clutch coil, then remove the clutch coil from the A/C Compressor. Mount the clutch coil to the A/C Compressor and fix using snap ring . Reinstall the clutch coil harness retainer, the clutch hub/bearing assembly and the clutch hub baring snap ring. Dip a tiny bit of oil on the least fat air gap shim and insert it between the clutch plate before putting on the clutch plate assembly. Make sure that during rotation no part of the drive plate drags on the pulley, and then measure the air gap between the pulley and the drive plate, by adjusting the shims to leave a 0.35-0.65 mm (0.014-0.026 in) air gap. Place the clutch plate retaining bolt and tighten to 18 n.m (13lb ft), remove the Drive Belt, from the vehicle.
