2007 GMC Sierra 3500 Classic Fuel Pressure Sensor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Replace a Fuel Pressure Sensor on 2007 GMC Sierra 3500 Classic?
A: You should raise the vehicle while providing support for changing the Fuel Pressure Sensor. Disconnect the chassis wiring harness electrical connector from where it connects to the Fuel Pressure Sensor. The fitting of the Fuel Pressure Sensor requires absorption of leaking fuel using a shop towel before the removal of both the Fuel Pressure Sensor and its o-ring seal from the fuel line. Before installing the new sensor o-ring seal you need to apply clean engine oil followed by attaching it to the fuel line fitting. A shop towel should be wrapped around the Fuel Pressure Sensor fitting location before starting to catch possible fuel leakage. Place the Fuel Pressure Sensor onto the fuel line before tightening it to 15 n.m (11 lb ft). The wiring harness electrical connector from the chassis needs to be connected to the Fuel Pressure Sensor before lowering the vehicle. A leak inspection can be performed by enabling the ignition for two seconds with the motor turned off followed by turning off the ignition for ten seconds. When the ignition is on with the engine off users should verify the presence of fuel leaks.
