2007 GMC Envoy Headlight Bulb Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Replace the Headlight Bulb on 2007 GMC Envoy?
A: The procedure to replace Headlight bulbs on envoy or rainier starts with turning off the lamp switch and waiting for bulb temperature reduction to minimize possible glass shattering. Eye protection must be worn at all times while you handle the bulb through its base because touching glass is forbidden and you need to stay away from dirt and wetness. Moist or touched bulbs require cleaning with alcohol or suitable degreaser before they must be properly dried thoroughly. Open the hood then detach both the headlamp and its associated access cover that is situated behind the lamp unit. First disconnect the electrical connector from its socket and then turn the bulb and socket detachable part counterclockwise to extract them from the housing. Installation of new bulbs requires using a high beam bulb with a black socket and a low beam bulb with a socket having gray tip and gray base. The electrical connector should first be inserted in the socket before setting up the bulb and socket and turning them clockwise until the locking tabs click into place. Complete the procedure by putting back the access cover together with the headlamp. The proper disposal of bulbs requires appropriate methods and all halogen bulbs need to remain out of children's access area.
