How to replace the engine oil and oil filter on 2007 GMC Acadia?

In order to change the engine oil and the oil filter, one will have to raise the vehicle and position a drain pan beneath the oil pan drain plug. Take out the plug, and empty out the oil, and put it back. Take out the oil filter, empty it, lubricate the new gasket and replace. Install oil in the engine, and check leakages.
