2007 GMC Acadia A/C Clutch Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the A/C Clutch assembly on 2007 GMC Acadia?
A: The procedure starts with vehicle support and belt removal before choosing to work on the compressor clutch assembly. Move on to remove the clutch plate retaining bolt followed by the clutch plate assembly. Start by removing the clutch hub/bearing snap ring then proceed with removing the clutch hub/bearing assembly. Unfasten the snap ring on the clutch coil before extracting the clutch coil from the A/C Compressor . Mount the clutch coil onto the A/C Compressor before sealing it with snap ring. Place a thin air gap shim pre-oiled inside the clutch plate before starting assembly of the clutch plate. Check for drive plate contact with the pulley before measuring the pulley-drive plate air gap. Adjust the shims to produce a 0.35-0.65 mm (0.014-0.026 in) air gap. Finally tighten the clutch plate retaining bolt to 18 n.m (13 lb ft) before replacing the Drive Belt and engine protection shield and lowering the vehicle.
