2007 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Fuel Level Sensor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the fuel level sensor in a 15 Reg Cab with a 26-gallon tank on 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 1500?
A: The replacement process of the Fuel Level Sensor in a 15 reg cab requires starting with the removal of its 26-gallon tank fuel tank module. The parking light and Fuel Level Sensor wiring pigtail electrical connector should be removed from the module cover to separate it from the module clip before extracting the wiring pigtail under the module clip. Pull the Fuel Level Sensor retainers into the slot to free the sensor from the module reservoir. After that, pull the sensor out of its module slot. When installing the new Fuel Level Sensor position it over the mounting slot in the reservoir before inserting it downward while verifying that the retainers capture the reservoir correctly. The wiring pigtail should receive its installation under the module clip after positioning it behind the fuel pump wires simultaneously with the electrical connector placement on the module cover for reinstalling the fuel tank module.
