2007 Chevrolet Impala Coolant Temperature Sensor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor on 2007 Chevrolet Impala?
A: To change the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor, drain the cooling systems first. Then remove, if needed, the intake manifold cover as well as the exhaust crossover. You need to disconnect the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor electrical connector and dispose of the ECT sensor. For installation, always make sure that replacement components are the part number for the application and if it is necessary, application of thread locking compound, lubricants, corrosion inhibiting, or sealants as it is indicated. Seal the threads of ECT sensor with sealer GM P/N 13246004 (Canadian P/N 10953480) or equivalent and then install the ECT sensor and tighten it to 20 N.m (15 lb ft). Connect the ECT electric connection and added intake manifold cover back or then install the exhaust crossover. Finally, fill the cooling system.
