2007 Cadillac XLR Radiator Hose Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the radiator hose outlet on 2007 Cadillac XLR?
A: Draining the cooling system is the first requirement before starting work on the Radiator outlet hose replacement along with air cleaner assembly removal. Disassemble the Radiator inlet hose from the Radiator through usage of the hose clamp pliers (J 38185) which frees the clamp tension at the Radiator attachment point. The same method must be followed at the engine before finally removing the Radiator inlet hose. The hose clamp pliers (J 38185) can help you remove tension from the Radiator outlet hose clamp located at the Water Pump and separate the hose from the Water Pump. Using hose clamp pliers (J 38185) disconnect the Radiator outlet hose from its position at the Radiator by untightening the hose clamp at the Radiator. Remove the Radiator outlet hose. Before installation align the reference marks between hoses and Radiator then apply clean coolant inside the hose diameters. The Radiator outlet hose goes back into position and connects to the Radiator while the hose clamp pliers (J 38185) enables tension on the Radiator outlet hose clamp at the Radiator. Connect the Radiator outlet hose to the Water Pump while the vehicle rests at its lowest position and clamp down the hose at the Water Pump with tension. Reinstall the remote Power Steering Reservoir after which attach the Radiator inlet hose to the engine. The hose clamp pliers (J 38185) enables tensioning of the Radiator inlet hose clamp which is attached to the engine until secure. After refitting the air cleaner assembly complete the cooling system filling process.
