How to replace the Windshield Wiper Switch on 2007 Cadillac STS?

Before replacing the windshield wiper and washer switch you must deactivate the sir system. You need to take off both steering column trim covers plus the tie straps that hold the steering column wiring harness. Detach plugs 1 and 3 from the windshield wiper and washer switch unit before pressing the holding tab on the switch to take it off the steering column. You should insert the new windshield wiper and washer switch over the steering column while keeping connectors 1 and 3 docked. Route the electrical connector to the windshield wiper and washer switch while connecting it. Put back the steering column wiring harness tie straps and trim covers. Finally, enable the sir system.
