In order to perform the work of replacing the universal joint with an external snap ring, collect the tools and hold the propeller shaft in a horizontal position. Label the extremities of reassembly, remove the snap rings and press the bearing cups with the U-Joint Bearing Separator. Test the parts by cleaning them and then assemble and fit the bearing retainers.
