  A: The first step to replace the torque converter clutch/cruise control release switch requires removal of the left closeout/insulator panel. Before proceeding detach the upper switch by turning it counter-clockwise to release the upper switch electrical connector. Install each Brake Pedal switch while the pedal maintains a full upward position or rests at its original position. The upper switch electrical connector should be connected before installing the upper switch into its proper position in the upper retainer until it becomes fully seated. Unguided adjustment of the release switch assembly along with the stoplamp switch assembly is impossible until the brake booster pushrod attaches to the Brake Pedal assembly because improper adjustment may result in cruise control malfunction. Complete the installation by setting and replacing the left closeout/insulator panel.
