- Q: How to replace the negative battery cable on 2007 Cadillac DTS?A: In order to replace the negative Battery Cable, you first unplug the negative Battery Cable and then unplug the body harness from the negative Battery Cable electrical connection and from the battery current sensor. Then pull out the negative Battery Cable ground bolt and the cable itself. In installation of the new negative Battery Cable, let the cable eyelet with the flat side at the bottom and the crimped part up. Install the positive Battery Cable ground bolt by placing the positive Battery Cable eyelet over the hole in the Floor Pan and installing the positive Battery Cable ground bolt with a torque of 36 n.m (27 lb ft). Finally, tie the body harness electrical connector to the battery current sensor and to the negative Battery Cable connector then reattach negative Battery Cable. Always make sure the replacement cables are of the same type, diameter, and length as the original cables and route your replacement cables the same as the originals.
