    A: You must start by removing both the Steering Column and its intermediate shaft then separate the intermediate Steering Shaft boot before proceeding. Starting with the intermediate shaft pinch bolt removal at the Steering Column allows you to remove the intermediate Steering Shaft. Follow the fastener notice in service precautions when attaching the intermediate Steering Shaft to the Steering Column during installation. Simultaneously install the pinch bolt onto the power steering gear stub shaft until torque reaches 47 n.m (35 lb ft). Place the intermediate steering boot back in position and fasten the intermediate shaft as well as Steering Column into place.
