2007 Buick Lucerne Radiator Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the radiator on 2007 Buick Lucerne?
A: A partial drainage of the cooling system marks the starting point for changing the Radiator (L26). You should start by removing the condenser line to Radiator retaining bolt together with the cooling Fan Shroud assembly. With hose clamp pliers (J 38185) the worker should move the hose clamps to different positions on the Radiator outlet hose before extracting the Radiator outlet hose from the Radiator. The next step requires removal of condenser mounting bolts but extra caution must be exercised to protect both Radiator and condenser lower mounting points. High enough condenser elevation enables you to release the lower mounts from Radiator front features after which you can remove the Radiator from the vehicle. Place the Radiator within the vehicle while aligning the condenser feet with the lower mounting sections at the Radiator front. Apply only the special length bolts to secure the condenser onto Radiator end tanks because longer bolts can produce damage. You must install condenser mounting bolts according to a torque specification of 13 n.m (115 lb in). You should begin with reattaching the Radiator outlet hose to the Radiator unit followed by positioning the Radiator outlet hose clamp using hose clamp pliers (J 38185), then securing the condenser line to Radiator retaining bolt and finally installing the cooling fans before the cooling system fills.
