You should disconnect the vss electrical connector first before taking out both the vss and its seal. Apply a thin coating of transmission fluid on the new o-ring seal using gm p/n 12346190 (Canadian P/N 10953477) or an equivalent product before installation. Fit the Vehicle Speed Sensor into position then torque it to 16 nm (12 ft. Lbs.). Return the vss electrical connector after completing the installation process then lower the vehicle back to the ground.
