How to replace the negative battery cable on 2006 GMC Sierra 1500?

To replace the negative Battery Cable, first remove the bolt and bracket of the Battery Cable from the Power Steering Pump and disconnect the negative Battery Cable. In the case of installation, it should disconnect the accessory power fuse block front wiring harness electrical connector from the negative cable connector. Lift and properly support the vehicle, and then remove the engine wiring harness ground / negative Battery Cable bolt and free the negative Battery Cable from the Battery Cable clip. Next, the forward lamp wiring harness ground/negative cable bolt and the forward lamp wiring harness must be pulled off the frame, and the negative Battery Cable from the cable channel. Lift the vehicle and disconnect the negative Battery Cable. For installation, begin with the installation of the negative Battery Cable, lifting the vehicle once more and attaching the negative Battery Cable to the cable channel. Reconnect the forward lamp wiring harness to the frame, proceed to connect the forward lamp wiring harness ground/negative cable bolt and tighten it to 9 n.m (80 lb in). Next, fit the negative Battery Cable to the Battery Cable clip and the engine wiring harness ground/negative Battery Cable bolt, which should be tightened to 25 n.m (18 lb ft). Depressurize the vehicle by attaching the accessory power fuse block front wiring harness electrical connector at the negative cable connector if so equipped, install and bolt the Battery Cable bracket to the Power Steering Pump tightening bolt to 25 n.m (18 lb ft), and next, connect the negative Battery Cable.
