How to replace the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) on a Tremec 6-Speed manual transmission on 2006 Chevrolet SSR?

Begin your work on the vss replacement by lifting the vehicle. Use tools to detach the speed sensor electrical connector then remove its bolt and retainer to withdraw the sensor while discarding the old o-rings and using new ones. Put clean transmission fluid on the new speed sensor o-ring before you position the speed sensor into the transmission unit. Place the retaining bracket by hand and screw the bolt in place before tightening its bolt to 12 nm (9 ft. Lbs.). After reconnecting the electrical connector replace the vehicle to its normal position.
