    A: To replace the Thermostat housing on 4.8l, 5.3l and 6.0l engines, you need to remove the radiator outlet hose, take out the Water Pump inlet bolts and remove the Water Pump inlet and Thermostat from the Water Pump, which the Thermostat is not serviceable but must be replaced as an assembly with the Water Pump inlet. For installation, place the Thermostat and the Thermostat housing on the Water Pump making sure to follow the fastener notice in service precautions, then, tighten Thermostat housing bolts to 15 nm (11 ft. Lbs.) and then reinstall radiator outlet hose.
