The first step to change the Mass Air Flow Sensor (MAF)/intake air temperature (IAT) sensor is to remove the air intake duct. The first step requires both the disconnect of the maf/iat sensor electrical connector and the bolt removal from the maf/iat sensor. The air cleaner housing requires the maf/iat sensor while you need to remove its seal for replacement. Place the maf/iat sensor on the air cleaner housing after applying any necessary maf/iat sensor seal. Install maf/iat sensor bolts to secure the sensor by tightening them until they reach 10 n.m (89 lb in) according to the fastener notice in service precautions. The air intake duct gets replaced after you rejoin the maf/iat sensor electrical connector.
