How to replace the A/C Expansion Valve in an A/C system on 2006 Chevrolet Monte Carlo?

To substitute the thermal expansion valve (TXV), drain the refrigerant, dis-connect the evaporator pipes and seal the ends of the drains to curb contamination. Install new sealing washers, remove the TXV and clamp the TXV to the evaporator core. Connect the tubes again, screw the nut of the evaporator tube, and refill the A/C system.
