How to replace the water pump (L61) on 2006 Chevrolet Malibu?

In order to change the water pump, empty the coolant. The sprocket and chain should be supported with the Water Pump Holding Tool. Take out the unnecessary parts, disconnect the coolant sensor and empty more coolant. Install the new water pump assembly making sure that it is properly aligned and all bolts tightened. Reconnect, fill in the coolant, and inspect leakages.
