How to replace the shift knob on 2006 Chevrolet Malibu?

Withdraw the shift shaft trim and center console so as to substitute the shift knob. Remain the setscrew, raise the shift knob and disconnect the electrical connector. Installation would require threading in the new wiring, re-attaching the knob and the trim, tying the wiring, and cleaning setscrew to be tightened. Lastly, reattach the console by fitting the trim back.
