How to replace the thermostat on the 8.1L engine on 2006 Chevrolet Avalanche 2500?

First drain the cooling system before replacing the 8.1L engine thermostat. Take out the inlet hose and the water outlet bolts and remove the water outlet and thermostat. Install water outlet and thermostat, tighten bolts, put in hose that held inlet back, fill cooling system.
