Free the lock cylinder from its rod before removing the c clip from the groove of the lock cylinder and taking it out of the liftgate. Easy installation requires you to setup the new lock cylinder in the liftgate followed by inserting the c clip in its groove. Then reconnect the lock rod and put back the Wiper Motor.
