The first step to replace the left Exhaust Manifold (LY7) should be shutting down the ignition. After removing the left and right torque strut bolts from the engine strut bracket follow the sequence of removing the exhaust crossover pipe nuts attached to the left bank Exhaust Manifold. Start by removing the oil level indicator along with its tube before continuing with the removal of Exhaust Manifold heat shield bolts that lead to removing the heat shield. You should then take out the Exhaust Manifold bolts together with the Exhaust Manifold while disposing of the old Exhaust Manifold Gasket.
