A ratchet acting as an a/c belt tensioner adapter helps operators turn the a/c belt tensioner to a clockwise direction which releases tension from the belt so they can remove the a/c belt from its pulley position. Free the tension on the a/c belt tensioner through gradual movement before removing the ratchet. Check and clean both surfaces on all involved pulley belts. The first step for installation involves putting the a/c belt around the crankshaft balancer followed by using the ratchet (A/C Drive Belt tensioner adapter) to rotate the a/c belt tensioner clockwise to create belt tension relief.
