How to service and repair the rear door handle and door lock cylinder on 2005 GMC Safari?

To access the tailgate release handle and lock cylinder, take off trim panel, access cover and water deflector. Un screw the control rod, un screw the outside handle and license plate housing, un screw the control rod off the lock cylinder. Install lock cylinder and reconnect parts making sure they are tightened. Apply lubrication to lock case and keyway of cylinder and assemble.
