How to Replace a Shock Absorber in a Suspension Strut Assembly on 2005 Chevrolet Venture?

To replace the strut assembly, lift and support the vehicle using the frame-contact vehicle lift, remove the tire and wheel and wiper module. After making sure that the vehicle is properly lifted, remove the strut upper nuts, scribe the strut on the knuckle, and undo the strut lower bolts/nut to remove the strut. For installation, install the strut first, then the strut upper nuts tightly enough, 30 Nm (22 lb ft). Next, install the strut lower bolts and nuts; Make sure the fastener is free of rust and clean, and develops 3 Nm (27 lb in) of torque/drag on it counterpart before fully seating; if not, replace the fastener. To adjust the strut to the mark on the knuckle, tighten the strut lower nuts to 112 Nm (83 lb ft). Finally, reinstall the wiper module, tire and wheel, drop the vehicle, and check the alignment.
