How to replace the rear disc brake backing plate on 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer?

In order to replace the rear disc brake backing plate one needs to raise the vehicle and pull off the tire. Disconnect the park brake cable, disconnect the brake caliper, brake bracket assembly and rear brake rotor. Remove the rear drive axle and the park brake shoe. Install new backing plate and then assemble the parts.
