How to replace the wiper arm on 2005 Chevrolet Impala?

First obtain Wiper Arm puller tool j 39822 before starting work. Turn on the engine and put the Wiper Switch into the delay mode. After wiper arms stop at the bottom of the wipe pattern turn off the ignition. Sever the washer hose connection from the Wiper Arm before removing the Wiper Arm nut cover and nut. The Wiper Arm pulls off from the wiper transmission thanks to the Wiper Arm puller (J 39822). Install the wiper arms on the transmission piece, place the right arm 97-107 mm (3.82-4.21 in) away from the air inlet screen and the left arm 125-147 mm (4.92-5.78 in) from the Wiper Blade tip. Apply threadlocker gm p/n 89021297 (Canadian P/N 10953488) or its equivalent to the Wiper Arm nut before attaching it with a torque of 30 n.m (22 lb ft). Reconnect the washer hose before placing the Wiper Arm nut cover back and activating the windshield wipers to test normal performance.
