2005 Chevrolet Equinox Fuse Box Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the underhood fuse box on 2005 Chevrolet Equinox?
A: The first step towards junction block or underhood electrical center replacement includes disconnecting the negative Battery Cable. The accessory wiring junction block cover must be removed to enable separation of the positive Battery Cable and eps cable by unthreading its ending nut. You should loosen the bolts situated on top of the fuse block to enable removal from its connectors. Safely remove the ip connectors and carefully elevate each 68-way connector until they separate from the fuse block while noting the three connectors incorporate push-in retainers. The reinstallation of the components must begin with the 68-way connectors replacing their designated positions starting from the fuse block case and following with the forward lamp 68-way connector and engine 68-way connector and culminating with the i/p 68-way connector. After placing each connector into the fuse block you should push down to secure it completely then you can reconnect the i/p connectors by tightening bolts on the fuse block top. Secure the harness retaining bolts of the underhood accessory wiring junction block with a torque of 4 n.m (35 lb in) before reattaching the positive cable to eps at the fuse block using its nut while using 17 n.m (13 lb ft) torque. After finishing the installation replace the cover of the Fuse Box and reattach the negative cable.
